Channel 4 – Will broadcast SIX HOUR RAVE!

Published On July 29, 2012 | Latest News

Channel 4 has announced that it will celebrate the birth of rave by televising a six hour party live with no interruptions!
The UK broadcaster has scheduled House Party to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the legendary free party at Castlemorton in Worcestershire, which is said to be one of the biggest raves ever.
The programme will begin at midnight on August 24 and run through to 6am. It will not be broken up by adverts nor feature any commentary. Annie Mac and Grandmaster Flash are two big name DJs that have been confirmed to play, with presumably more to be announced.
Apparently Channel 4 are aiming to create the ‘ultimate DJ booth’, with viewers able to request songs while they watch.
The station’s arts commissioner Tabitha Jackson said: “Perhaps the most radically innovative element of the night is that, in direct contrast to the new on-de mand TV landscape, House Party is a genuine one-off. It will not be repeated and it will not be available on 4oD.”
“Like all the best club nights and parties if you want to be there you have to turn up,” she added.
House Party will be preceded by a documentary featuring Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, former Home Secretary Michael Howard and, bizarrely, Will.i.am.
