Paul Velocity is best know for his regular monthly Funky House podcast on iTunes and his quirky Funky House/Electro music tastes. Born in 1980 in Chertsey, Surrey, Paul Velocity has been a quietly understated professional DJ for over 12 solid years.

Paul’s musical influences stem from artists such as Soul Avengerz, Freemasons, Calvin Harris, Bassmonkeys, Soulshaker, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Ian Carey, Raul Rincon and Audio Jacker as well as labels such as Defected and CR2.

His career started after he got his first pair of Technics 1200’s in 1998 and began putting on successful events and parties around his local area where he quickly began establishing a name for himself at both live events and also pirate radio.

Paul progressed on to organising larger events and helped to run the under 18’s event Club Empire in Guildford during 2000 and 2001, headlining some of the most well known DJ/Producers of the time.

Between 2000 and 2003 Paul Velocity not only wanted to play great music – he wanted to make it too.

He has produced several bootlegs and remixes, played out on London’s famous KissFM and Kisstory Club Tours. He also attended the finals of the Ford Ka Mash-Up DJ competition at China Whites in London as well as being offered to remix for the DMC label.

Bar residencies and club guest spots have seen Paul Velocity travel the length and width of England and Wales, as well as abroad. In Ibiza Paul has rocked the legendary Bar M in San Antonio, In Vienna he has smashed the Skykitchen and has had recent interest from big name promoters in Dubai.

In 2007, Paul began to produce regular monthly mixes and publish them on iTunes. He quickly became regarded as one of the top Funky House podcasters on iTunes where he was now able to broadcast to a global audience.

As an offshoot to the iTunes podcasts, Paul released a series of DJ interviews called Paul Velocity Presents with the aim of interviewing and promoting well-known and not-so-well-known DJs and producers in the scene. This has allowed him to get the inside scoop on big name artists such as Katherine Ellis among others.

His MP3s get over 20,000 downloads per week and this rapidly growing popularity has led him to host regular radio shows on the top 2 House radio stations for his genre, SSRadio and Lifted Radio. Paul has also appeared as guest spots on Raunchy Rhythms and 1Radio.

Still touring the UK and abroad, each month Funky House DJ Paul Velocity releases a mix of the freshest upfront House music on iTunes and every two weeks you can hear Paul on his radio show Platform Six available at Lifted Radio.
